Checked figures from INSTAT, the World Bank and other official sources — with the year and the source link.
How we count
Every figure links to an official or international source, the reference year and the date we checked it. If a figure cannot be verified, we leave it out.
We do not use live counters. Census population is the usually resident population. For GDP and remittances we use World Bank series (current US dollars). Tourism: for Albania — foreign citizen border arrivals (INSTAT); for Kosovo — foreign visitors in accommodation (ASK).

INSTAT counts every border entry; the same person may be counted more than once in a year.
What we left out
- Diaspora estimate — INSTAT has published «Diaspora e Shqipërisë në Shifra», but the official PDF could not be verified from this environment (link unreachable). We do not publish a figure we could not check against the source.
- Annual net migration — We did not find a single clear annual net-migration figure published by INSTAT for 2023/2024 in the open source we checked; Census 2023 reports immigrant stock, not a comparable annual net flow.
